REDUCE/♻/REUSE TIP

When I was a child reverse vending machines would be in every supermarket. Returning the bottles was always a highlight because I could see how much money I got back. Now after years without them, they are finally celebrating their comeback and I am really happy about it!
You can find them in almost every supermarket again.
Returning and Recycling bottles helps to reduse the waste of resources and you get some money back as well. In Austria you can retourn
- deposit bottles made out of glass,
- swing-top bottles,
- bottle crates,
- deposit beer bottles
- deposit PET bottles
- 1 L glass bottles for mineral water

UPDATE: Did you know that 35 billion beverage packages (bottles, cans, ...) are being returned every year, worldwide for recycling?
Well, I didn't but I think it is a great number already. Huge shout out to all the companies and people participating already! I hope our community will grow even bigger 💚

I like this reverse vending machines a lot as they are a source of recycling the used bottles and hence getting some money back. These machines are easily available in the market and should be purchased by the people for the economic purposes.

Hey there, my name is Fiona. I love travelling and getting to know different cultures. Because of travelling I realised I don't need many things to live a happy life. My transformation started ten years ago with my first big trip to India, since then I live a very minimalistic lifestyle. For a couple of years now, it is not only minimalistic but also zero waste.

On this site you will find everything about zero waste, minimalism, waste and other kinds of topics.
